TickEase Launches Battle Against Lyme Disease and Other Tick-borne Illnesses

by Ted Lund

Want to help prevent Lyme disease, Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis and other serious tick-borne illnesses while helping your favorite animal rescue group?

Thanks to the new IndieGoGo campaign launched by TickEase inventor and urban deer and tick expert Dan Wolff, you can do just that.

This revolutionary crowdfunding campaign benefits not only consumers and their pets, but also animal rescue organizations of their choice.

  • Some 300,000 Americans are affected by Lyme disease every year. Early detection and removal is essential for preventing infection. TickEase,  a revolutionary new tick removal tool taking the outdoor and pet markets by storm, makes this possible.

“We’ve had a tremendous response since the launch of the project, but wanted to do something more to help prevent tick-borne illnesses for our customers, as well as animal shelters around the world,” says Wolff, inventor of TickEase.

“I designed TickEase with a very fine-tipped pair of tweezers at one end that is perfect for removing even the smallest ticks from humans quickly and effectively,” says Wolff. “The other end of the tool features a slotted scoop that is perfect for removing those engorged, blueberry-sized ticks from pets and other animals.”

Wolff hopes to accomplish this by getting his product in the hands of many people as possible, as well as through the company’s revolutionary tick-prevention portal, www.tickease.com.

“TickEase provides the simplest, most reliable way of removing ticks consistently without leaving mouthparts that increase the risk of infection,” says Wolff.

The program has three levels. Customers who donate $30 receive one TickEase for themselves and another, sent in their name, for the animal rescue league or shelter of their choice. For $60 donation, we’ll add a limited edition tick T-shirt to the mix.

A $100 donation entitles you to all of the above, plus a free tick test by the University of Massachusetts’ Laboratory of Medical Zoology. 100-dollar  donors who use the TickEase to remove a tick may send the specimen to UMASS and have it tested for one of four tick-borne illnesses: standard Lyme disease, Lyme variation, Anaplasmosis and Babesiosis.

  • “We want to give outdoor enthusiasts, families and pet owners peace of mind by providing a safe and effective tool for removing ticks,” says Wolff. “We promote education, awareness and prevention steps to combat the increased incidences of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses nationally and around the world.”
