A standoff between police and an armed suspect ended quietly when the suspect pulled a disappearing act and slipped through the authorities’ fingers.

Man Falls Asleep During Police Standoff
A suicidal Amarillo man fell asleep during a police standoff this morning.
Amarillo Police were tipped off by a worried family member who said the man was drinking heavily and had access to a plethora of guns. They got to the home at about 5 am to be greeted with the sound of a gunshot coming from the interior of the home on Cypress Point. It is unknown as to whether or not he was firing at the officers.
