The perpetrator sought is 26 year old Mikko Daniels from Amarillo. He is wanted for shooting 28 year old Joey Garcia in the chest while he was walking across the intersection of NE 11th and N Lincoln Street on October 27.
Large Wreck on 34th Puts Four in Hospital

Four people were taken to a local hospital after a gruesome crash on West 34th Avenue late Sunday evening.
The wreck occurred when a man traveling westbound in a pickup slammed into another truck and ran it off the road. The other truck rolled and landed in the front yard of a house on Rusk Street, prompting three of the occupants to be rushed to a local hospital.

Florencia Calzada was found dead in a Randall County ditch on December 7, 1986 from a gunshot wound at close range to the back of his head. Johnny Ray Klein, now 48, apparently pulled up to Calzada who was stranded in the ditch near Interstate 27, put a .22 cal to his head and pulled the trigger.
Popular Restaurant Destroyed by Fire

A popular north Amarillo restaurant was battered by a fire Saturday evening.
Broken glass, blackened metal and residual ashes now fill the parking lot of Tony’s Restaurant on the corner of Fillmore and NE 11th Street. Firefighters were called to the once-bustling restaurant at around 8pm Saturday as flames shot through the roof. Thirty firefighters from five units fought the flames and finally contained it with aerial ladders after three hours. The building still stands, but was damaged beyond recognition by the blaze.
Help Nabbing Wanted Fugitives Sought in Amarillo

Amarillo police need help in finding some violent, creepy and dangerous fugitives.
Justin Duane Nelson, 25, is wanted by Randall County for unauthorized use of a vehicle. He was on probation for the offense, and violated it. Nelson stands 6′1” and weighs 230 pounds.
An angry and violent man is sought by Potter and Randall counties. John Roger Wells, 31, is wanted by Potter County for aggravated assault with a shotgun. Randall County wants the man for assault of a family member. Wells stands 6′1” and weighs a paltry 160 pounds.
Empty Stocking Fund Helping Those in Need Again

The Empty Stocking Fund is back this year to help families in need have a Merry Christmas.
The Amarillo-Globe newspaper started the fund back in 1972 to bring joy to Texas Panhandle residents, having raised $2.7 million to date. This year, the fund expects to raise $100,000.
Nursing homes, agencies and people in general submits applications for aid, which are then screened by a committee who determines how much aid each respective applicant should receive. Many benevolent departments and facilities in the community comprise the committee that selects the applicants.
