An investigation is underway by Potter-Randall Special Crimes investigators as to the reason a man shot his son Saturday.
Rodney Dunlap, 60, called 911 at about 7:50 pm to report a shooting that happened at his home just outside Amarillo. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the body of 33 year old Joshua Dunlap inside a recreational vehicle they were living in. He was found with an entry wound to his chest from a handgun.
Rodney was arrested, booked and charged with murder after it was revealed that the two were in an argument.
This latest apparent homicide casts a shadow over Amarillo, as this incident marked the second homicide in 24 hours in the city. Just hours prior to this shooting in a other case of familial aggression, Guadalupe Olmos, 29, was gunned down by his own brother at a business in North Amarillo.
