In quite possibly the strongest case for parents to keep their guns locked up, an Amarillo teen is in serious condition after shooting himself in the face with a high powered rifle.
The 16 year old said he didn’t know the gun was loaded, and somehow pointed it towards his face and fired it. He was with two other kids at his barn in Childress County, from where he was airlifted to a Lubbock hospital.
He underwent surgery immediately, and was said to be in serious condition. His name has not been released, and the embarrassing situation is being investigated as an accident.
